Who this is for
Homebuilders, general contractors, landscapers, pool companies, farmers, and homeowners.
How much fill dirt do I need?
Length x width x depth (in feet) divided by 27 gives you cubic yards. Add about 15% for compaction. Or tell us the area and how much you need to raise it and we'll figure it for you.
What's the difference between fill dirt, pit sand, and topsoil?
Fill dirt is for building up grade and pads; it compacts well. Pit sand is a cleaner sandy material for pads, backfill, and under slabs. Topsoil is screened, goes on top, and is what you plant grass in.
Do you charge sales tax on dirt?
Yes, Alabama sales tax applies to material sales. It is shown on the invoice.
